"Great Neighborhood Grill"

We stopped in for lunch last week because we'd heard about the place through several media sources, so decided to check it out. Grant's is a small cozy restaurant, with great food, great service and very friendly staff. My wife had the BLT with avocado and had more bacon (made by the restaurant) than we've ever seen on a BLT. Great homemade fries too. I had the soup and 1/2 sandwich combo and had a great half Cubano. They are within 5 minutes of our house and met all of our expectations. We'll be back soon.

"We appreciate quality homemade food"

Although the restaurant has been here for awhile, I noticed it on a recent drive home. After seeing some underwhelming yelp reviews but reading the owners mission I took the family there. We ordered the charcuterie which included house made duck jerky, smoked fish, salami, cheeses, sliced nuts and fruit. It was excellent! Wine and beer selections really good and the two for one happy hour you can't beat. 3 boys, 1husband ordered and mommy scrounged. Kristin our server was wonderful. She told us they grind their own meat too. We appreciate the time, quality and value of this food being hunters and butchering and processing our own meat. 3 burgers were ordered and they were cooked to order and excellent. The hand cut fries were excellent. The 10 oz NY steak ordered medium rare was excellent and cooked as ordered. Good steak. The creme brûlée was excellent. The service was excellent. We sat in the covered, heated outdoor seating area. Lovely. We will be back. In response to reviews claiming it is overpriced, it is not. The quality and attention put into the food puts is right on par. We plan on bringing extended family here to show off our local faire! Keep up the good work!

"So glad we gave it a try!"

Just got back from eating at Grant's Neighborhood Grill and figured it was time for me to weigh in. After reading some of the reviews, I was a bit nervous. I had read the reviews from the Statesman and from Boise Weekly, which sounded like they liked the joint, but the other reviews I read on line were hit or miss. Every restaurant goes through a learning curve, so I figured I would try. We had a certificate available, so $25 off of a $50 purchase makes it much less painful to try. So, I ordered the gnocchi, with a Caesar salad to start. My hubby ordered the southwest burger with a side salad and my little boy ordered the burger. First off, the Caesar salad was no ordinary Caesar, Yes, it was still very Caesar-ish, but with a brilliant slant of a bit of Jalapeño in the dressing. Not too much that it makes it spicy, just enough to give it a different nuance, and I must say, I thought it fantastic! My absolute new favorite, and I'm not that much of a spice gal. Next time I will try it with different proteins(chicken, shrimp etc) The Parmesan gnocchi came plated with a variety of roasted veggies, sautéed mushrooms, chopped pecans and micro greens. The gnocchi was perfectly accomplished with just the right amount of parmesan, fluffy, like little clouds of heaven, sautéed to perfection with an brown butter sauce that was there but not drenching the food. It was a beautifully balanced dish with complex flavors. I knew right there that I would HAVE to write a review for this place. My 8 year old son polished off the 1/3 lb burger. Obviously it was delicious although I do wish I could order a child portion as they did not have a burger on the kids menu. The only children's items were listed for children under $8 I believe and they were macaroni and cheese, chicken tenders or a cheese quesadilla. I do hope they change that to include a burger at some point, as a $9 burger for a kid is a bit high. But, as the child polished it off, I had no problem paying for it. My husband said his burger was wonderful with a great blend of meat, obviously fresh custom ground meats, that was perfectly seasoned. Burgers come with fries, homemade obviously, that were good in their own right. Dessert for us was a flourless chocolate torte. This can always be a hit or miss in any establishment, but was a definite hit here! It was served with a delightful custardy cream on top with a swirl of rum caramel sauce around the bottom. I told my husband that I wanted to lick the plate afterward. All in all, you can really tell that this place uses quality ingredients. Every ingredient was top shelf and all condiments are obviously made in house. I'm a picky foodie, and am all over the local food scene. This place is worth checking out. I look forward to exploring their menu in the coming months. Thank goodness Meridian is getting more quality restaurant's like this, we need more eateries that appeal to the sophisticated palette like Grant's. Don't be scared away from the other reviews, every place needs time to work out the kinks, and if tonight's meal is representative of what I can obtain in the future, I'm all in.

"Great food"

Excellent food, a local gem. Great food and great service. We have eaten here a couple of times and have been extremely satisfied both times. Pork chop and salmon are favorites and a special request for sautéed veggies as opposed to starch options was excellent. Support your local restaurants and give Grants a try!

So amazing!!!!! The staff is friendly and passionate. The chefs are creative and the menu and specials will change with the local sources available. Their burgers are in house ground and the flavor was sublime! Great texture and lots of vegan and GF options! This food loving, anti frankin food girl will be back and often! The Tempura green beans made my day!

What a great new find! Farm to table ... So fresh there's not even a microwave on site! Homemade dressings are so flavorful.. Avocado dressing is the best ! Of course the horseradish garlic dressing was a close second.... Had those with fresh green beans . The best. Will be our new hangout! Full bar. Uh huh!

We went during the soft open and it was wonderful. Love the decor...we sat out on the patio and it was fun and relaxing. The service was really good for only having two servers and an almost full house that night. My husband had the gnocchi--it was delicious (way better than others we've tried)--perfectly cooked! I had the BLT--at first I didn't know what to think about the didn't look like any bacon I've ever was really thick and more like ham and really delicious--the sandwich had great flavor and the hand-cut fries were amazing and cooked perfectly (so much better than what most places give you their frozen fries). We also enjoyed some amazing cocktails...the Cranberry Drift was the best drink I've ever had (I really don't even like drinks that much--but this one is a must-have!!)--the Sangria was also delicious! We would definitely recommend Grant's--the prices were reasonable, the service was really good (I'm sure it would have even been better if there would have been another server to help) and the food was outstanding. Even though it's a bit of a drive for us...we will definitely be back again--worth the trip!

We love Grant's! It's close by, parking is easy, has a full bar and it's a very comfortable atmosphere. We have been there 5 or 6 times and have never been disappointed. Tonight we had burgers and fries. The burgers were cooked to order, mine medium rare and my husband's medium and their fries were really good, with skins on, and I ate every one. The pretzel buns aren't like the ones you can buy at the store but are nicely salted and just a little bit chewy which in my mind is a good thing. The goat cheese cheesecake is very different in a good way. I would definitely recommend Grants!
